JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The Mississippi Parent-Teacher Association is urging state residents to join in making snowflakes for the replacement building being decorated for students of Connecticut's Sandy Hook Elementary School, where the Dec. 14 school shooting occurred.
Leaders of the Mississippi group suggest that PTA groups, families, churches and others make snowflakes to decorate the vacant Chalk Hill school in Monroe, Conn., that Sandy Hook students will occupy beginning in January.
The Mississippi effort is part of national PTA drive to help decorate the building.
Snowflakes can be sent by January 12, 2013 to: Connecticut PTA, 60 Connolly Pkwy., Building 12, Suite 103, Hamden CT 06514.
