Summer driving vacations may be a little more affordable now than they were a couple of weeks ago. During that time, the cost of a gallon of gasoline in the United States has dropped by about 15 cents, according to a survey released yesterday.
Of all cities in the Lundberg Survey report, Jackson has the lowest average price at $3.03 for a gallon of regular. The national average stands at $3.48, down .49 cents a gallon from this year's high set in April, reports CNN.
San Francisco has the nation's highest fuel prices at $3.95 a gallon.
The Lundberg Survey attributes the falling gasoline prices to global economic fears, specifically regarding the threat of renewed and continued recessions in Europe.
