Mississippians will get a free chance to protect themselves from identity theft today and tomorrow when the Attorney General, the Secretary of State, the Better Business Bureau, BancorpSouth and CredAbility host their Sixth Annual Shred Days.
The event gives consumers, but not businesses, the chance to shred their personal documents for free from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at one of six locations: On Friday, the service will be available at the Home Depot on Interstate 55 in Jackson and the Wal-Mart on North Gloster Street in Tupelo. On Saturday, it will be at the Wal-Mart on Sangani Boulevard in D'Iberville, the BancorpSouth on Hardy Street in Hattiesburg, the Wal-Mart on Second Street in Meridian and the BancorpSouth on South Street in Vicksburg.
Participants are allowed to bring up to five large garbage bags or boxes of documents to shred.
