Boil Water Notice in West Jackson

The city has issued a boil water notice for about 150 people in west Jackson. Here is the announcement, verbatim:

Water Line Repair / Boil Water Notice

City of Jackson Water crews are repairing a 12 inch water main break now. This work is expected to last several hours. The City of Jackson has issued a Code Red call alerting residents in the area. When the water is restored residents will also be under a precautionary boil water advisory until further notice. This is for customers in the following areas:

• [0-560] Magnolia Road (between Clinton Blvd and John Hopkins Ave)
• Knob Hill Dr
• Glen Rose Dr
• Bayberry Dr
• Wild Flower Dr
• Melba Hill Dr
• Wood Rose Terrace
• Magnolia Cir
• Magnolia Dr

THIS ADVISORY AFFECTS APPROXIMATELY 150 CUSTOMERS SERVED BY THE CITY OF JACKSON SURFACE WATER SYSTEM (PWS 250008).
This is a precautionary advisory. This notice does not mean that your water is unsafe, but it does mean that you must take precaution and boil your water before use. All customers are advised to boil their drinking water until adequate pressure is restored to the system. Water should be brought to a rolling boil for one minute for the following: cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks, feeding pets, washing dishes, and all other consumption.

RESIDENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED IMMEDIATELY WHEN THE ADVISORY IS LIFTED. For more information, customers may call 601-960-2723 during business hours or 601-960-1778 (or 601-960-1875) after 3:00PM and on weekends.
