Bryant Leads Cancer Awareness Event on Motorcycles

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant and his wife, Deborah, are taking part in a Jackson-to-Gulfport motorcycle ride Saturday to help bring attention to breast cancer research.

The governor's office says more than 200 people are expected to participate, and they're being asked to donate $20 each.

The money will go to the Central Mississippi Steel Magnolias Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a charity Deborah Bryant supports.

Riders are set to depart at 10 a.m. from a south Jackson motorcycle dealership. They'll go down U.S. Highway 49 through Hattiesburg and end up in Jones Park in Gulfport.

The governor will drive his own motorcycle, and Deborah Bryant says she'll ride with another biker.
