The rest of the early contenders are closing in on Florida State. The Seminoles have been nowhere near as dominant this season as they were last season.
Things will start to shake out in the SEC West as Mississippi hosts Alabama, Auburn hosts LSU, and Mississippi State hosts Texas A&M. LSU is playing for its playoff life, and later in the season, the other losers could be on the outside looking in.
Nebraska enters the top 25 poll and is the lone unbeaten team in the Big Ten. The Pac-12 seems to be as rugged as the SEC West.
