JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Bond has been set at $2 million for a central Mississippi man charged in a 2013 hit-and-run death.
Mississippi Department of Public Safety spokesman Warren Strain says 34-year-old Michael Edge Triplett of Flora was arrested Friday and charged with conspiracy and leaving the scene of an accident involving death. If convicted, he would face up to 20 years in prison.
The body of Maury Michelle Cole-Flint was found Dec. 21, 2013, in the median of U.S. Highway 49 in Pocahontas, north of Jackson.
Hinds County Judge Melvin Priester set bond when Triplett made his initial appearance Friday, and Triplett was being held in the Hinds County jail.
The Associated Press left a message with Triplett's attorney, Dennis Sweet IV, who was out of the office late Friday afternoon.
