JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi lawmakers are driving forward with a plan to wipe out vehicle inspection stickers.
The Senate Finance Committee on Thursday passed Senate Bill 2519. The bill moves to the full Senate for debate.
The proposal would eliminate the need for Mississippi drivers to obtain a $5 sticker every year.
The brief safety inspection includes a check on whether headlights, windshield wipers, turn signals and the horn are working.
