JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — The newest member of the Mississippi Supreme Court takes her oath of office Tuesday.
WLBT-TV reports Justice Dawn H. Beam of Sumrall will be sworn in at 9 a.m. in the En Banc Courtroom of the state's highest court. Chief Justice Bill Waller Jr. will administer the oath of office.

Pierce's term is set to expire Dec. 31. An election will be held in November.
Formal investiture services will be held March 7 at First Baptist Gulfport and at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg.
Beam, who is 52 years old, will be the fourth woman to serve on the Mississippi Supreme Court.
