The seal represents the state of Mississippi today. The six stars represent the six nations/territories that Mississippi was a part of (Native American, France, Spain, Great Britain, Confederacy, and the U.S.). Red, white, and blue color scheme just like the U.S. flag. -Kenyan Crawford
