David Hampton said yesterday on this blog that he ran into D.A.-elect Robert Smith, who told him that he no longer has the two JPD bodyguards. Then Hampton explains it away this way, in the way that he does. Per the blog:
So, I'll take Smith's word that he was victim of Metlon's overreaction. It has happened before. Smith is new and will have to go to school a few times on dealing with Melton.
Uh, David, Melton introduced Smith to me at his house in April 2006 on the eve of the Batman trial as "one of mine." Do you really think Smith needs schooling in how to "deal" with Melton? Come on. It's great that you want to see the best in everyone, but look where that Ledger naivete got us with our current mayor.
Fortunately, Gorjus takes Hampton to task under the post for the same thing. Check it out.
